CERIAS Professor Receives Honorary Doctorate

Paavo Lipponen (L), Prime Minister of Finland, and Prof. Edward J. Delp receive honorary doctorates from the Tampere University of Technology.

Edward J. Delp, Professor of Electrical Engineering and Professor of Biomedical Engineering, has received an honorary doctorate from the Tampere University of Technology.  Delp’s citation states:

“In recognition of your scientific work in the field of signal and image processing and your merits in the development of multimedia systems and the secure data communications they require. You have also been engaged in long-term cooperation with our university and forwarded its activities within the international research community.”

Delp is currently a visiting professor at the Tampere International Center for Signal Processing at the Tampere University of Technology in Finland.

Cisco Funds Two Cisco-CERIAS Scholarships

Cisco Systems, Inc., the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, announced last week that it has joined with the Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security (CERIAS) to award two scholarships to students studying information assurance or security at Purdue University, in West Lafayette, Indiana.
