Biography
Dr. Pitts is an assistant professor of Industrial Engineering. Prior to his faculty appointment, he was a Research Fellow in the University of Michigan Center for Healthcare Engineering and Patient Safety (UM CHEPS). Dr. Pitts is the director of the NHanCE (Next-generation Human-systems and Cognitive Engineering) Research Laboratory at Purdue University. His research focuses on the development and evaluation of human-machine systems to support (primarily aging) operators in the context of safety-critical, complex environments such as automotive, aerospace, and healthcare.
