Melissa is the chief systems administrator at Ladoga Engine Company. Ladoga Engine Company supplies a major manufacturer of heavy industrial equipment, such as bulldozers and cranes. The manufacturer is requiring that all of its suppliers, including Ladoga Engine Company, complete their supply-chain interactions online to streamline the production cycle, reduce time-to-completion, and reduce waste.

While Melissa is worried that her already understaffed IS department will be stretched to the limit in implementing this online system, she is even more concerned about the security implications.
